THE DONUT KING

TDK Documentary LLC – a startup film production company was created to film, direct, produce and sell The Donut King documentary. Jose Nuñez, one of TDK’s owners, has over 15 years of industry experience as a producer of commercials for fortune 500 companies.

CHALLENGE

TDK originally started as a labor of love for Jose. Financing the documentary with his own money and producing it with the resources at hand and with support from friends in the business. With key film festivals approaching, he needed to pick-up the pace and find proper financing.

RICHARD'S AUTO

Richard’s Auto was established in 2004 by Mr. Ricardo Bermudez who immigrated in 1989 from El Salvador. After leasing for 12 years, Richard purchased and moved his operation to a new, larger property. The new property is 4,695 SF and fits 10 cars; the old property was 1,352 SF and fit only 3 cars.

CHALLENGE

The acquisition of this property left Richard’s Auto in need of working capital in order to maximize the new property’s potential. Mr. Bermudez had already exhausted his savings, used funds from his retirement account and credit card debt to cover the down payment, closing costs and all relocation related costs.

SOLUTION

After reviewing Richard’s financial position, Acelera Financial provided capital to help Richard’s Auto refinance high interest rate credit card debt, in addition to working capital to help the business add 6 employees to payroll.

RESULT

Richard’s Auto improved monthly cash flow after refinancing the high interest rate debt.
Revenue has increased since moving to the larger facility. He currently has 45 cars on the lot.
Six new jobs were created in an LMI community.

HAPPIER CAMPER

HC is a manufacturer of modern modular camper trailers that are lightweight and customized to their owners’ needs. This unique product was designed and developed by co-founder, Derek May, in 2015. Since then, HC has grown rapidly.

CHALLENGE

With $1MM in back orders and demand increasing every day, HC needed to reinvent its production line. They restructured their production line by redesigning their “molds” and acquiring and moving their supplier of “shells” closer to their headquarters.

SOLUTION

Acelera Financial recognized that HC had taken some bold steps to increase efficiencies and meet consumer demand. Acelera Financial provided HC capital to accelerate production plans and increase cash flow.

PACIFIC HARBOR TRANSPORT

Prior to incorporation, PHT’s founder operated as a sole proprietor, hauling loads for clients while subcontracting to other drivers as needed.
